Dr Chen Min Qi is a general surgeon at Gleneagles Hospital and Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore.
He has a keen interest in vascular and endovascular surgery including aortic surgery, carotid artery surgery, dialysis access surgery, limb salvage surgery, and varicose vein surgery.
Prior to private practice, he was the head of the vascular service at Woodlands Health.
Dr Chen graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS). He subsequently completed his basic and advanced training in general and vascular surgery, and obtained his master's degree at NUS. He is a fellow of Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK. He was awarded the Health Manpower Development Plan Award and completed further subspecialty vascular training at St Mary’s Hospital, UK. There, he gained experience in surgeries on complex abdominal and thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms, redo open repair of abdominal aortic aneurysms following failed EVAR surgeries as well as carotid endarterectomy surgery and lower limb revascularisation surgeries.
While at Woodlands Health, he was also the executive committee chair of the vascular surgical instrument procurement team and an executive committee member of the multidisciplinary diabetic foot workgroup involving collaboration with endocrinologists, orthopaedic surgeons and podiatrists to ensure holistic care for patients with diabetic foot disease. He has performed more than 2,000 vascular and endovascular surgeries.
Beyond his clinical work, Dr Chen was a clinical tutor at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. He also served as an examiner at the final Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery undergraduate examinations conducted by NUS on numerous occasions.
He has also contributed to medical research and has published in related publications in vascular surgery as well as submitted oral and poster presentations at local and regional conferences. He is a reviewer for the International Wound Journal and co-chaired the Woodlands Health INSPIRE 2022 Congress on “Holistic Management of Diabetic Foot Disease”. Dr Chen is also a member of the Society of Vascular and Endovascular Surgeons of Singapore.
He is a recipient of the SQ Awards Service Ambassador in JurongHealth.
