Dr Choo Chuan Gee is a respiratory medicine physician at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore.
His clinical interests are chronic cough, airway diseases and interstitial lung diseases. He is proficient in performing advanced diagnostic bronchoscopy and medical thoracoscopy.
Dr Choo was a senior consultant and head of the division of respiratory medicine at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital (NTFGH).
He graduated from the University of Sheffield, UK. He then continued his specialist training in respiratory medicine and internal medicine at various institutions across NHS Trust hospitals in the UK, and obtained his certificate of completion of training.
While at NTFGH, Dr Choo served as the medical lead for the hospital’s clinical practice guideline workgroup’s project on standardisation of care for asthma/chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. He was also the lead for the assessment of patients as part of the hospital’s JCI Accreditation standard benchmarking exercise, and served as chairperson of the NTFGH’s endoscopy centre committee, where he led the development of advanced diagnostic endoscopy procedures in respiratory medicine at the hospital. He has been practising medicine for more than 20 years.
Besides his clinical work, Dr Choo was a senior clinical lecturer at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, and associate programme director for the respiratory medicine senior residency programme at the National University Health System. He was also the supervisor for the advanced practice nurse clinical training programme at NTFGH.
He served as an executive committee member of the Singapore Thoracic Society.
