Dr Jarrod Lee is a gastroenterologist at Mount Elizabeth Hospitals, Gleneagles Hospital and Parkway East Hospital, Singapore.
His interest is in gastrointestinal cancer screening and prevention, and in harnessing technology for early cancer detection and prevention. He specialises in advanced endoscopy, including endoscopic ultrasound and endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography.
Dr Lee set up the gastroenterology service at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) in 2010 and established the division of gastroenterology and the endoscopy centre for the hospital, serving as the clinical lead and chairman of the respective units before leaving for private practice. He was a former visiting consultant at the National University Hospital and KTPH.
He graduated in 1998 and completed internal medicine training in 2004. In 2009, he was accredited as a specialist in gastroenterology.
Dr Lee is a winner of the American Society Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) Audiovisual Award and the ASGE Crystal Award, which are international awards recognising outstanding educational productions and contributions related to gastrointestinal endoscopy. He is the earliest and only person to date from Southeast Asia to win these awards.
He lectures extensively both locally and regionally. He is a reviewer for several endoscopy journals in the world and provides consultation for major companies in the endoscopy industry. He is also a frequent guest speaker and writer to the primary healthcare community, partnering with family physicians to improve digestive health in the community.
Dr Lee continues to support the public sector as a visiting consultant endoscopist, where he performs advanced procedures for complex cases and trains the next generation of endoscopists.
