Dr Lee Yee Mun is a urologist at Mount Elizabeth Hospital and Parkway East Hospital, Singapore.
Besides treating patients with a wide range of general urological conditions, he specialises in urinary stones disease, endourology and advanced laparoscopic surgery.
Prior to joining private practice, Dr Lee was a senior consultant urologist and director of endourology at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH).
Graduated from the National University of Singapore, he entered surgical training and later, attained fellowships of the Royal Colleges of Edinburgh and Glasgow, as well as master’s degree in surgery. He completed further specialist training and received specialist accreditation board certification in urology. He then underwent fellowship training at Westmead and St Vincent's hospitals in New South Wales, Australia.
At TTSH, he initiated the practice of same-day discharge for mini-percutaneous nephrolithotomy patients, and spearheaded several inter-departmental collaborations, e.g. in the laparoscopic management of peritoneal dialysis access, shockwave lithotripsy for pancreatic ductal stones, and surgical management of adrenal conditions. He also started the laparoscopic PD (peritoneal dialysis) access service there.
In 2016, he was conferred the Master of Public Health degree, under the Dean’s Scholarship from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and the National Healthcare Group’s (NHG) Clinician-Administrator Award. Dr Lee has served on various committees at hospital, cluster and ministry level, and presently serves on the Singapore Medical Council’s complaints committee, and as a council member of the Singapore Medical Association. He has been practising medicine for more than 25 years.
He held the positions of adjunct associate professor and principal lead for urology at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University, and was previously programme director for the surgery-in-general and urology residency programmes within NHG.
