Dr Lee Yuh Shan is a haematologist at Gleneagles Hospital and Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore.
He specialises in malignant haematology such as lymphoma, leukaemia, myeloma and haematopoietic stem cells transplant.
He developed his specialty in lymphoma at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Maryland, United States, where he had first-hand experience in seeing patients under clinical trial with new oral therapy in the treatment of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and aggressive lymphoma.
He contributed to the development and incorporation of new agents in the treatment of lymphoma, as well as the development of investigator-initiated trials for aggressive lymphoma in the department of haematology at the Singapore General Hospital (SGH).
Dr Lee worked for 10 years at SGH. He was the director of the lymphoma service in their department of haematology from 2017, and was the lymphoma lead at the SingHealth Duke Blood Cancer Centre (SDBCC) from 2018.
He is active in collaborative works locally under the SDBCC and Singapore Lymphoma Working Group, as well as regionally for CLL. In addition, he is involved in many pharmaceutical sponsored trials and investigator-initiated trials, most of which focus on new agents in lymphoma and myeloma.
Dr Lee is active in undergraduate medical training. He is a senior clinical tutor for the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at NUS, and is an adjunct associate professor at the Duke-NUS Medical School.
He is also a faculty member of the senior residency programme in haematology at SGH. He is an active speaker at regional haematology symposiums especially in CLL/lymphoma. He also contributes to lymphoma support group and Singapore World Lymphoma Day.
He has published in many peer-reviewed journals and is a reviewer for peer-reviewed journals. He is also a member of SingHealth Institutional Review Board (IRB) and sat on several pharmaceutical advisory boards.
