Dr Ngoi graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1981 and was admitted as Fellow to the Royal College of Surgeons (Glasgow) in1985, Fellow to the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) and completed Master of Medicine (surgery) (Singapore) in 1986.
Prior to entering private practice at Gleneagles Hospital, Dr Ngoi had held several posts as Medical Officer, Senior Tutor, Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor and Consultant Surgeon at both the Singapore General Hospital and the National University Hospital in Singapore. Dr Ngoi also underwent several academic attachments at the Department of Surgery at the Univesity of Hong Kong, Queen Mary Hospital's Endoscopic Unit, St. Mark's Hospital in the United Kingdom, and the Department of Surgery at The New York Hospital at Cornell Medical Centre. Dr. Ngoi is also a member of the International Society of Surgery (ISS), Collegium Internationale Chirurgiae Digestivae (CICD), The Academy of Medicine of Singapore and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons as well as a member of the Faculty of Medicine, National University of Singapore Laser Committee in 1986.
Dr. Ngoi’s clinical interests include colorectal surgery, general surgery and laparoscopic surgery, particularly cholecystectomy, appendectomy, hernia repair and adhesiolysis. He also has interests in endoscopy, including gastroscopy and ERCP.
