Dr Derrick Oh is an orthopaedic surgeon at Mount Elizabeth Hospital and Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore.
He has dual subspecialty areas of training in sports and trauma surgery.
Common conditions managed by and common procedures performed by Dr Oh include arthroscopic knee surgery, including ACL reconstruction; meniscus surgery and complex repairs for multiple lesions; arthroscopic shoulder surgery, including rotator cuff surgery and Bankart repair; cartilage regeneration; knee and shoulder replacement surgery; and computer navigation in knee replacement.
He graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1995, and his postgraduate qualifications include a degree in general surgery from the fellowship of the Royal Surgeons of Edinburgh, a master's degree in orthopaedics, and a membership with the fellowship of the Royal Surgeons of Edinburgh (Orthopaedics).
Prior to starting private practice, Dr Oh was a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
He actively shares his expertise as a clinical teacher to medical and nursing students as well as fellow doctors and surgeons. He was also a former course tutor, and an instructor for a shoulder and knee arthroscopy workshop.
He is active in conducting orthopaedic research, which spans from osteoporosis and cartilage regeneration to injuries in children.
