Dr Poh Keng Soon is an orthopaedic surgeon at Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore.
His primary interest is in shoulder and elbow conditions, ranging from sports injuries and trauma to degenerative conditions such as labral injuries, rotator cuff tears and osteoarthritis.
Dr Poh specialises in minimally invasive keyhole (arthroscopic) and joint replacement (arthroplasty) surgeries, particularly of the shoulder and elbow joints, such as arthroscopic rotator cuff repairs and reconstruction for recurrent shoulder dislocations. He performs a high volume of shoulder replacement surgeries for advanced arthritis, employing computer planning and 3D printed patient-specific instrumentations.
Prior to joining private practice, he was a consultant in the department of orthopaedic surgery at the National University Hospital’s (NUH) division of shoulder and elbow and at the Joint Replacement and Reconstruction Centre at Alexandra Hospital. He is still a visiting consultant at NUH.
He joined the postgraduate specialists’ training programme in orthopaedics surgery at NUH. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK. He received the Health Manpower Development Plan award to further pursue his training in Australia with a special focus in sports, shoulder and elbow surgery.
Besides his clinical work, Dr Poh is an adjunct professor at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
