Dr Eugenie Poh is an ophthalmologist at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore.
She specialises in cataract surgery, glaucoma treatment, retinal disease treatment, and the treatment of general ophthalmology conditions. She subspecialises in oculoplastic surgery, with a special interest and expertise in eyelid reconstruction surgery, lacrimal surgery, and orbital surgery.
She was formerly a senior consultant ophthalmologist at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) and is currently a visiting consultant there.
Dr Poh graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2002. She obtained her ophthalmology specialist degrees from Singapore and Edinburgh, UK. She is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK and the Academy of Medicine, Singapore. Having completed her specialist training in Singapore, she went on to complete advanced training fellowships in oculoplastic surgery. She was awarded the Health Manpower Development Plan award and completed a 12-month clinical and surgical fellowship in oculoplastics, orbital and lacrimal surgery at the South Australian Institute of Ophthalmology, University of Adelaide, Australia. There, she trained with a special interest in eyelid reconstruction surgery and endoscopic lacrimal surgery for tear duct disorders. She has been practising medicine for more than 20 years.
She was the earliest solo ophthalmologist-performed endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy surgery at TTSH and started the thyroid eye disease service there as well.
Besides her clinical work, she was a clinical tutor at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS and is currently a senior clinical lecturer. She was also a clinical teacher at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. She has trained and mentored numerous local and overseas clinical fellows in oculoplastics while at TTSH. She was also the course coordinator and core faculty lecturer for the Conjoint Singapore Polytechnic-University of Manchester optometry degree programme.
Dr Poh has been invited to give expert symposium lectures and talks both locally and overseas. She is a regular invited speaker in Seoul, South Korea at the Congress of Korean Society of Aesthetic Surgery.
She is a recipient of the Long Service Award.
