Dr Sanjay Nalachandran is a general surgeon currently practising at Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore. Dr Sanjay's subspecialty and clinical interests are in vascular surgery (vein surgery) and endovascular surgery (minimally invasive vein surgery).
Dr Sanjay was educated in in Ireland and Singapore, where he received advanced training in general and vascular surgery. In 2005, Dr. Sanjay received a Singapore Ministry of Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) scholarship to pursue a one year advanced vascular surgery training program at Freeman Hospital, Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK. Upon returning to Singapore, Dr Sanjay worked in the General Surgical Department of Tan Tock Seng Hospital as a consultant.
Currently practising at Gleneagles Hospital Singapore, Dr Sanjay is trained in advanced laparoscopic surgery and in both traditional vascular surgery and endovascular surgery. He is well versed with the latest stenting and angioplasty procedures in vascular surgery. He has a particular expertise in the treatment of varicose veins using the EVLT technique. In addition to that, he also specialises in non-invasive techniques like sclerotherapy and laser for spider veins at his Singapore clinic.
Dr Sanjay has always been enthusiastic and heavily involved with both undergraduate and post graduate medical education. In recognition of this, he has been awarded the position of adjunct assistant professor for Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore.
