Dr Wee Chee Keong is a neurologist at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore.
His main clinical interest is in acute stroke treatment.
Dr Wee completed his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at the National University of Singapore in 2004, and became a member of the Royal College of Physicians (UK) in 2009.
He subsequently completed specialty training in neurology in 2013. He received the Health Manpower Development award in 2015 and pursued a year of fellowship training in Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Perth, Australia.
During his time of service in National Neuroscience Institute (NNI) at both Singapore General Hospital and Changi General Hospital campuses, Dr Wee helped to develop and refine treatment protocols of acute stroke patients. He was also the chief medical informatics officer for NNI.
He is a visiting consultant with the Singapore General Hospital.
A keen advocate for patients, Dr Wee co-chaired the inaugural Brain Awareness Carnival in 2017, which was NNI’s outreach programme to help the community learn about prevention and treatment of neurological disorders.
As an educator, Dr Wee was a faculty member of the neurology senior residency programme, and an adjunct assistant professor with Duke-NUS medical school.
In 2018, he also co-chaired the 17th Singapore International Stroke conference.
