Dr Julian Wong is a vascular and general surgeon at Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore.
His clinical expertise includes aortic surgery, carotid surgery and stenting, venous disease and venous ulcers management, renal access surgery or dialysis, onco-vascular surgery, and diabetic foot revascularisation.
He has been practising medicine for more than 30 years and has more than 26 years of experience in endovascular aortic surgery.
Prior to private practice, he was a senior consultant and head of the division of vascular and endovascular surgery at the National University Heart Centre, Singapore. He was also the director of the aortic centre and director of its vascular laboratory.
Dr Wong completed his medical and specialist training in the academic unit at University Hospital of South Manchester, UK and was an established National Health Service consultant general and vascular surgeon at University Hospital North Staffordshire and Nuffield Health’s North Staffordshire Hospital.
He has co-authored about 50 publications including five book chapters. He was a part of the general surgery core faculty at the National University Hospital and set up the international vascular fellowship programmes in Singapore. In addition, he is one of the court of examiners for both the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Edinburgh. Locally, he is the chief examiner for the Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons and chairman of the Master of Medicine in General Surgery, and a Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons’ examiner.
Dr Wong is a recipient of the Long Service Award.
