Dr Daniel Yeo is a cardiologist at Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore.
He specialises in the treatment of all aspects of heart disease, and has special interests in treating heart failure and performing and interpreting echocardiograms (ultrasound test that creates images of the heart).
He was the former head of the heart failure service in the department of cardiology at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH), and director of the heart failure disease management programme at the National Healthcare Group, Singapore. He has been practising medicine for more than 20 years.
Dr Yeo completed his bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery at the University of Western Australia in 1999. He then completed specialist training in internal medicine, followed by advanced specialty training in cardiology at TTSH in Singapore, and subsequently completed a 1-year advanced fellowship in heart failure and cardiac transplantation at the Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, US. He also undertook simultaneous training in transoesophageal echocardiography at the Cleveland Clinic. In 2012, he obtained a diploma in adult echocardiography from the National Board of Echocardiography, US.
He is a member of the Royal College of Physicians (UK), fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London, fellow of the Academy of Medicine of Singapore, and fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He is a founding member of the Singapore Chapter of the American College of Cardiology, and a founding member of the Heart Failure Society (Singapore).
Dr Yeo taught medical students and junior doctors when he was a clinical senior lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. He was a local site principal investigator for several pivotal clinical trials in current cardiology such as the PARADIGM study, IMPROVE-IT study, LEPHT study, SHOP study, ASIAN-HF study at TTSH. He has presented new research at many of the major international cardiology conferences, and has authored and co-authored many research papers.
