Dr Yong Ren is an orthopaedic surgeon at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore.
His clinical interests include general orthopaedic surgery, complex peri-articular limb fractures, foot and ankle trauma, pelvic and acetabular trauma, primary adult reconstructive surgery and spine surgery.
He was the former head of orthopaedic trauma at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH) in 2015 and was the orthopaedic lead for its geriatric hip fracture unit.
He received his bachelor and master’s degrees from the National University of Singapore and is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK. After being awarded the Health Manpower Development Plan award, Dr Yong spent a year of training in pelvic trauma and spinal surgery at the Inselspital in Switzerland.
He is a member of the Singapore Orthopaedic Association, Singapore Medical Association and AO Trauma International. He is also an AO council member of AO Trauma Singapore.
Dr Yong has spoken at various medical conferences including the SingHealth annual scientific meeting, Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association meeting, JPOA, and Duke-SGH annual scientific meeting.
